Introduction

The LS-LEAK-S1 Non-Destructive Leak Tester adopts the vacuum decay method and is suitable for non-destructive seal testing and package integrity verification of bottles, tubes, cans, boxes, pouches and other products in industries such as food, pharmaceutical, medical device and electronic components. It also performs non-destructive leak detection of micro leaks and leakage rates for specimens including ampoules and vials.

Test Principle

The main unit is connected to a vacuum decay chamber. The specimen is placed inside the chamber, which is then evacuated to create a pressure difference between the inside and outside of the specimen. Gas enters the vacuum decay chamber and main unit through any leaks. The main unit monitors vacuum changes in the test chamber using pressure and differential pressure sensors, and determines the specimen's qualification and minimum leakage rate based on the vacuum variation.

Test Procedure

Non-destructive testing is performed without damaging the sample. Results are judged automatically to minimize human influence. Both large-leak and intact sealed samples can be tested.

1. Place the specimen into the test chamber and evacuate the chamber to the set vacuum level. If the target vacuum is reached within the specified time, the specimen is free of large leaks; otherwise it is judged unqualified.
2. Set the dwell time and critical value. If the vacuum does not drop to the critical value within the dwell time, the specimen is free of medium leaks; otherwise it is judged unqualified.
3. Set the test duration. If the vacuum decay rate is below the standard limit within the test time, the specimen is free of micron-level and larger leaks; otherwise it is judged unqualified.
