LR-5060 Scott Volumeter Loose Density Meter Metal Powders Apparent Tapped Density Tester
Introduction
Scott capacity meter is based on the national GB5060-85 "metal powder loose pack density measurement method Part II: Scott capacity meter method" design, manufacturing; It also conforms to the international standard ISO 3932/2 "Determination of loose density of metal powders - Part 2: Scott Volumetric Method". The test device is suitable for the funnel whose aperture is 5mm which cannot flow freely through the funnel method and the powder whose characteristics are easily changed by the vibrating funnel method.

Principle:
The powder will be put into the screen in the upper assembled funnel and flow naturally or by external force into the cloth case, first through the four glass panels with an inclination of 25° and the square funnel in turn, and then into a cylindrical cup of known volume for loose-fitting. Then weigh the powder in the cylindrical cup.

Instrument composition:
2.1. The upper combination funnel: It is assembled by two stainless steel conical funnels, separated by a column, and put into a stainless steel screen with a diameter of 1.18mm.
2.2. Cloth box: The cross section is square, and there are four 1mm thick stainless steel plates inlaid diagonally on the aluminum frame. The front and rear walls of the frame are plexiglass plates; Stainless steel plates can be pulled out for easy cleaning.
2.3, square funnel: 1mm thick stainless steel integrated molding, tilt Angle of 60° square cone, bottom diameter of 12.5mm×12.5mm.
2.4 Cylindrical cup: volume is 25 cm3 0.05cm3, inner diameter is 30.m soil 1 mm. Stainless steel material
2.5, bracket: used to support the upper combination funnel, cloth box, square funnel, cylindrical cup and other parts.

Test procedure:
3.1 Carefully place the powder on the screen of the upper combination funnel with a spoon, pass through the cloth box and square funnel, and flow into the cylindrical cup until it is full and the powder spills out.
3.2 If the powder cannot pass through the screen freely, brush with a soft brush to make the powder pass through the screen. If not, the metal powder is not suitable for the Scott volumeter method for the determination of loose density.
3.3 When powder spills out of the cylindrical cup, scrape it with a stainless steel plate. But do not compress or bring out the powder in the cup, let alone make the cup shake or vibrate.
3.4 After scraping, gently tap the cup to make the powder sink, avoid powder loss in the process of moving, and do not touch the powder on the outside surface of the cup.
3.5 Weigh the metal powder in the cylindrical cup to an accuracy of 0.05g.

Calculation of test results:
The ratio of mass to volume of metal powder is the loose density, which can be calculated by the following formula:
ρas: powder loose pack density measured by Scott volumeter, g/cm3,
m: powder weight: g
V: Volume of powder, cm3.
