Overview:

Laser Induced Breakdown spectrum or LIBS, is a type of atomic emission spectroscopy.It uses high energy focused pulsed laser beam to excite the surface of the sample, and obtains the corresponding element composition and content through the algorithm analysis of the generated atomic spectrum, which is a rapid qualitative and quantitative industrial analysis technology. In August 2012, NASA's "Curiosity rover (Cu-rioity)" rover officially landed on Mars, the probe vehicle equipped with a set of LIBS equipment as a supplement to the traditional XRF equipment, the composition of Mars rock analysis experiment, excellent completion of the detection task, thus LIBS technology began to be known.
