KDGF-C UHF Partial Ddischarge Tester/Test Device
Product Introduction
The KDGF-C UHF Partial Discharge tester is a specially developed and simple instrument for detecting electromagnetic wave and ultrasonic activity. Partial discharge An electrical discharge that does not completely short circuit the electrode. The amplitude of this discharge is usually very small. But they do lead to a continuous decline in the performance of the insulation layer, which ultimately leads to the failure of electrical equipment. Non-invasive partial discharge detection provides a fast and easy way to identify potential insulation failures that could cause power outages or cause injury to people. The most practical techniques for non-invasive detection are based on detecting the high frequency part of the electromagnetic spectrum as well as ultrasonic signals. The KDGF-C partial discharge tester is a specially developed and simple instrument for detecting electromagnetic wave and ultrasonic activity.

Product Characteristics.
1, airborne ultrasonic discharge activities Acoustic radiation in partial discharge activity occurs in the entire sound spectrum. It is possible to listen to sounds, but it depends on each person's hearing ability. Using instruments to detect ultrasonic waves in the sound spectrum has several advantages. Instruments are more sensitive than the human ear, are operator-independent, operate at frequencies above audio, and are more directional. The most sensitive detection method is the use of ultrasonic sensors with a center frequency of 40 to 200kHz. This method can detect partial discharge activity very successfully.
2, airborne ultrasonic discharge activities When partial discharge activity appears in the insulation layer of the high voltage switch cabinet, it will generate high-frequency electromagnetic waves, which can only leak from the switch cabinet to the outer surface through the opening in the metal housing. These openings can be gaps in the housing or gaps around sealing gaskets and other insulating parts. When the electromagnetic wave travels outside the switchgear, it creates a transient voltage on the grounded metal housing. The transient ground voltage (TEV) is in the range of a few millivolts to a few volts and exists for a short time, with a rise time of several nanoseconds. Partial discharge activity can be detected by placing the probe outside the switch cabinet in a non-invasive manner.
