ASTM D6082 Lubricating Oils High Temperature Foam Stability Tester
Introduction
The A1082 high-temperature foam characteristic tester is suitable for testing the foam characteristics of lubricating oil at 150ºC. The sample is heated to 49ºC, held at this temperature for 30 minutes, then cooled to room temperature. The sample is then transferred to the specified graduated cylinder and heated to 150ºC. Dry air is introduced into the metal diffusion head for 5 minutes. The static foam volume, the moving foam volume, the static foam volume after a specified period of time after stopping the air supply, the time for foam disappearance, and the percentage increase in total volume are measured at the moment before the air supply stops.
