Principle and application |
The oxygen in metal and non-metal solid materials is detected by inert gas melting principle. In the determination of oxygen, the sample after weighing is placed in a graphite crucible and melted by heating at high temperature in the argon gas flow. The oxygen in the sample reacts with the carbon in the graphite crucible to produce carbon monoxide (CO). This mixture is sent by argon gas to the reformer, where the carbon monoxide (CO) is converted to carbon dioxide (CO2), and through the gas mixture after the reformer is sent to the infrared detection tank, where carbon dioxide (CO2) is detected.
