Powder Natural Bulk Density Meter Scott volumeter for powder density
The natural bulk density meter (variable funnel method) is designed and produced according to the provisions of the national standard GB/T 16913.3-2008; it is used to measure the bulk density of dust.
It is widely used for bulk density tests of various metal powders, non-metallic powders, chemical powders such as powder metallurgy powders, magnetic material powders, alloy powders, milk powders, abrasives, coatings, and food additives

2. Principle
Dust falls freely from the funnel mouth at a certain height and fills the measuring cup; the mass of dust per unit volume in the measuring cup in the loose state is measured, that is, the dust bulk density.

3. Instrument structure
Funnel (outlet diameter 12.7mm) |
The funnel is made of stainless steel, and the funnel taper is 60°±0.5 |
Blocking rod | Made of stainless steel, used to prevent dust from falling when the dust is loaded into the funnel |
Measuring cup | This device is equipped with a stainless steel measuring cup with a volume of 100ml and an inner diameter of Φ39mm |
Scraper Made of stainless steel, used to remove excess dust when the dust is loaded into the funnel

4.Measurement steps
1. Test the weight of the empty stainless steel measuring cup m1
2. Block the funnel with a plugging rod, weigh some powder and pour it into the funnel
3. Pull out the plugging rod and let the powder flow freely until the powder completely overflows the measuring cup
4. Use a stainless steel ruler to scrape the excess powder in the measuring cup, and then weigh the weight of the measuring cup and powder at this time m2
5. Calculate the bulk density of the powder according to the formula: ρ=(M2-M1)/V Note: V is the volume of the corrected measuring cylinder, 100cm3.
Note
The difference between the maximum and minimum values of the dust mass obtained by three consecutive measurements should be less than 1g, and the average value of the three measurements that meet the requirements is taken as the measurement result.
Standard configuration: Densitometer host, plugging rod, cylindrical measuring cup, scraper, brush
