Product Introduction
Determination of bulk density of metallic powders -- Part 2: Scot volumetric method.The test device is suitable for the funnel with a diameter of 5mm which cannot flow freely through the funnel method and the powder with characteristics easily changed by the vibrating funnel method.
1 Principle :
The powder is then placed on a sieve in the upper combined funnel and fed into the cloth case naturally or externally. It is then fed into a cylindrical cup of known volume in an unnatural manner, alternating with four glass plates and square funnels with an incline of 25° in the case.Then weigh the mass of the powder in the cylindrical cup.

2 instrument composition:
2.1 Upper combination funnel: Assembled by two stainless steel conical funnels, with a section of cylinder separated, and put into a stainless steel sieve with an aperture of 1.18mm.

3 Test Steps:
3.1 Carefully place the powder on the sieve of the upper combined funnel with a spoon, pass through the cloth box and the square funnel, and flow into the cylindrical cup until it is full and the powder spills over. 3.2 If the powder cannot pass through the sieve freely, a soft bristle brush can be used to brush the powder through the sieve.If not, the metal powder is not suitable for the determination of loose packing density by the Scott-volumetric method. 3.3 Scrape the cylindrical cup flat with stainless steel plate after powder overflow.Do not compress or take the powder out of the cup, let alone make the cup shake or vibrate. 3.4 After scraping, gently tap the cup to sink the powder, so as to avoid powder loss during the moving process, and no powder should be stained on the surface of the cup. 3.5 Weigh the metal powder in the cylindrical cup, accurate to 0.05g. |
